  • Vista CDROM bootup-shutdown-logoff problem.?

    It seems like ALOT of people are having Vista problems. I'm running a HP a1730n with Vista home premium. The problem I have is the DVD-ROM reading DVDs, but not CD-ROMS. The system also locks up (or has delays of 20 min.+) when trying to logoff or shutdown. The system is up to date, but I can seem to correct the problem. Anyway to correct this?

    the answer is by rchilly2000 :you have to buy xp. you can't download it. I don't see how you think you download vista. you have to buy a cd that you insert in your cd drive and it is installed from there.
