No "external" video card? I think you mean no "standalone" video card. You're probably using integrated video on the motherboard. If so, the "Aero Glass" feature won't likely have enough juice to run smoothly.

You should check and see if you have an AGP expansion slot on the motherboard. If so, go out and purchase a new video card. A GeForce 6800 or higher, or an ATI x1600 or higher should do just fine in Vista.
