vista problem or video card problem???

i installed windows vista on my pc, and when i boot up computer it says video card cannot be found. i go into device manger and it says: Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43).
Iv tried reinstalling software, letting windows install video card itself, and downloading vista drivers for it ..installs fine says everything is gud, then i restart computer and nuffin says cannot be …

When I turn on my computer, it loads Windows, skips login, and goes to the desktop. The only problem is that the desktop is black, and I can't load or run any programs unless I Ctrl+Alt+Delete and log off, then back in again.

i used the command alt+1060 or something like that while renaming an icon and it like makes it so you cant see the name…..but how do i undo that or give the file a name?
