I got a horrible problem with my Vista. Some 3D games run choppy and the audio awfully lags, but some work normally. Strange thing is that this was not all the time since I installed Vista.
Games that lag:
-Frets on Fire
-TOS4: Oblivion
-NFS: Carbon, ProStreet
-Heroes of Might and Magic V
-GTA: San Andreas

Games that do not lag:
-Portal
-Half-Life
-Various emulators

I have Vista home premium
I have written some documents that i want to save to a portable 40gb hard drive
Vista won't let me save it there.
I'm happy with UAC but is there anywhere to tweak the settings?

The 32 bit version of Vista can only "see" a little over 3 GB of RAM. It doesn't matter if you have a 64 bit CPU or not.

Switch to the 64 bit version to "see" up to 16GB RAM, if you have a 64 bit CPU.
