Vista user account question - choose where i save files?
Hi
I have Vista home premium
I have written some documents that i want to save to a portable 40gb hard drive
Vista won't let me save it there.
I'm happy with UAC but is there anywhere to tweak the settings?
the answer is by biggeo65 :
I don't think UAC is responsible for this. Why safety settings deny you to transfer data to an external drive?
What the message you get?
You can log-in as administrator and disable UAC temporarilly, but again I am not sure that this will solve your problem.
To disable UAC:
Go to START/RUN type "Msconfig" without "'
When msconfig window open click on tool TAB, scroll till you found diable UAC,click on that line and then hit the launch button.
Click OK to close all windows after a commant line window open and close.
Reboot.
Or you can disable UAC under control panel /user accounts and familly settings/ click on ADD/Remove user account, click on a user account, click go to main user account page, and then click on to "make changes to …."
In new window click the box to unselect "use UAC…"
Reboot.
Have a nice day.
