Got any tips to tweak Vista performance?

I'm trying to get my RAM usage down as low as possible
What services can I disable, what features can I disable, etc?

So far I've gotten the RAM usage down to 411MB

Thanks

Other than upgrading your hardware, there seems like too many things that you can do to optimize Vista to run faster. In fact, the Windows Vista Online Magazine ran an article of 50 ways to do this.

One of the ones I like and personally use is ReadyBoost. If you have extra, unused (or even used) Flash media, (such as a flash drive, SD card) you can configure it to run using a new feature introduced in Vista called ReadyBoost. Basically, you configure the drive (while it has at least 256mb of free space) to act as an addition to your system's RAM. When it comes to ReadyBoost drives, it's best to choose speed over size; A 256mb flash drive with accelerated speed is better than a normal 2gb flash drive.

Another cool thing that you can do is prioritize your tasks, you can do this by opening Task Manager, Right clicking on a task that relates to the program you wish to speed up, Scroll over 'Set Priority', and you can change it lower or higher than normal (or keep it at normal!) You can do this for explorer.exe, effectively speeding up the core of your system. Lowering this for non-memory intensive programs can help too.

Other things they suggest doing includes things like using keyboard shortcuts or downloading certain software for temporarily running tasks faster, such as using the [Windows] key instead of pressing the Start button constantly.

The articles listed below are very interesting, I'd recommend reading through them for anyone that's having speed problems.

In the end, though, I don't think you'll get much lower than 1% CPU usage or 411mb, as both of those statistics are extremely low. Right now, just because I'm using Aero and a bunch of other memory-hogging programs, I'm using up over 1gb of RAM! But props go to you, that must be one fast computer now.
