hey i want to put the weather gadget on my desktop, but i dont want the side bar, i had it on but i done something and its went off can someone tell me how to put the weather gadget on with out the sidebar

Hardly anyone has Windows Vista, so none of my word documents or powerpoints are compatible with theirs! I had to get a new computer this year, and I didn't realize that Vista was completely incompatible with everything! Will the new Windows 7 be compatible with my Vista? What is the problem with Vista? I love it on my computer!
Exactly how much more RAM does it take up? On a laptop with 4GB of RAM…Could this deference really matter that much? As I said above, I use Vista and my computer is always running fast!
