Can you download Microsoft Gadgets for XP?

I have XP on my netbook, and I was wondering if I could download microsoft gadgets (the vista sidebar) for XP. If I can, where? Also, if I can't, which is better and why: Google Desktop or Yahoo! Widgets? I have tried both but I am not sure which is best. Please give me your opinion!

You can download a Vista Recovery Disk from Neosmart Technologies.
This is a legal download, as the disk has no installer. It just functions as a recovery disk.
