My PC has Vista, and I “hate” it. How can I change to XP?

I’ve had a new desktop PC now for about 2 months with Windows Vista, and I hate it. I mean, I really hate it. I do NOT like the way it works or sets things up.
If I download all important files and data to an external hard drive for safety, can I "completely" remove Vista from the system and install Windows XP ?? If so, EXACTLY how do I do this?
Thanks.

the answer is by DHANAS :
wait for windows 7 operating system, vista has lot of unsolved bugs, so they made the advanced sysytem called windows 7, you can upgrade that one.
